Eligibility for Homebirth

In order to keep homebirth as safe as possible, there are some conditions and risk factors (either preexisting or developed during pregnancy) that would risk someone out of care. These things may need increased monitoring, access to higher level of care, or more interventions that we cannot provide either due to safety or legality. These can include but are not limited to:

  • Uncontrolled or insulin dependent diabetes

  • Multiples (Twins, Triplets, etc)

  • Breech delivery

  • Premature labor (before 37 weeks)

  • Postdates (43 weeks or more)

  • Preeclampsia

If you would like to discuss whether or not you are a candidate for homebirth, you can contact us with questions, or a free consult.
